Racing started on Friday with superb weather, sunny and warm. The course was closer to the shore that what we were used to in former years, so the shoreline had some effect on the wind and made it tricky to navigate the pastches and shifts.
Saturday was still fair weather, the wind had shifted to the south west and the course was close to the shoreline again, making it very tricky to have consistent results.
After some rain overnight, sunday started overcast and very light. Siling seemed so unlikely that some packed up already. But the Race Committee managed to send the fleets out and have got a race in. The wind actually increased quite a bit for good sailing conditions. But the rain front which brought the wind also made the weather a bit miserable.
Nick Craig showed again that he can navigate tricky conditions second to none, but the results also show how hard it was to have a consistent series this year at Medemblik.
