During the last weekend of August 2014, nineteen OK dinghy sailors from the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and France brought their boats to Oosterzee (NED) for the first Easterseeregatta in history.
Dutch enthousiastic OK dinghy sailors organized this event in the northern part of the Netherlands called Fryslan to promote the class in their own land and to have another great international OK dinghy class event next to the spring cup, after becoming a full member of OKDIA again.
The event was generously sponsored by Rabobank, Diversion, Pi-groep, leukebootjes.nl and Scaldis Sails.

The venue was a small boat harbour for launching with a campsite right next to it and very close to the town center. The Lake is twenty square kilometers in size.

The first day of racing saw 11 to 14 kn of wind and 3 races about 45min long were sailed. After racing there was a free BBQ and beer.

Breakfast on Sunday was also included in the entry fee. Four races in light winds, starting with 7kn, later increasing to about 11kn were sailed.

Overall it was a very well organised and enjoyable event which will hopefully be the start of a long tradition, just as the Spring Cup in Medemblik proved to be.
