The 2026 OK Dinghy World Championship will be held in Skovshoved Harbour, Denmark, from 5-12 June 2026. After a record breaking 212 boats turned up for the 2025 World Championship on Lake Garda, a big entry is again expected in Denmark, home to the largest OK Dinghy fleet in the world.
Until the 2025 World Championship, Denmark had been the host of the largest OK Dinghy World Championship, when 145 sailors took part in the 2012 World Championship in Vallensbæk. Ongoing growth in the class has led to huge fleets in recent years, and unprecedented interest in the class and this is expected to continue.
The countdown is on. The Royal Danish Yacht Club (KDY) and Hellerup Sejlklub (HS) are delighted to welcome the OK Dinghy World Championship to Denmark. This is more than a regatta. It’s a chance to race on legendary waters, meet the global OK family, and experience a true Danish summer filled with hygge, great sailing, and good company.
The organisers are promising a first class event: Racing like nowhere else; Big course, fair racing– Øresund gives room for perfect courses in any wind; Pro race team– internationally experienced race officers, robotic marks, smooth logistics; Sweet spot breeze– 8–15 knots on average, protected but challenging waters; and a compact harbour setup– 150+ dinghies, all in one place for a buzzing event atmosphere.
Plus, plenty of hygge– that special Danish coziness – in the boat park and clubhouse
