OK Dinghy - 2016 Thomas Hansson-Mild chooses Danish built OK Dinghy - 08 February 2016

Thomas Hansson-Mild (SWE), one of the fastest OK Dinghy sailors for the past 20 years and World Champion in 2009, has chosen the Danish company Vejle Yacht Service to deliver his newly designed OK Dinghy for his 2016 campaign.
“I always had great confidence and good experience in the Delf construction and with the design ideas from Thomas Egeskov, who presented them last year, it was a natural choice for me to buy one of their newly designed OK Dinghies. We appreciate a new boat builder in the OK Class, who can deliver competitive designs and very high quality,” said Thomas Hansson-Mild.
Thomas Egeskov from Vejle Yacht Service said, “We have received international and positive attention to our new design. The project started back in 2014, when we launched three prototypes in early 2015 and with our investment in a new Delf mould, we are able to deliver to sailors and meet the growing demand from international OK Dinghy sailors. Our design strategy is to develop a high-tech and very fast hull using new and light materials in advanced mould processes.”

Vejle Yacht Service was founded in 2002 by Thomas Egeskov. Thomas started his career in 1990 as a boat builder from Børge Børresen, the famous Dragon sailor and Dragon boat builder. Since the start of the company, today employing 10 people, they have been designing and building yachts for sailors around the world. The company also specialise in the restoration of classic wooden Dragons.
